While speaking to ANI on Sukesh Chandrashekhar case, Additional Commissioner of Police, EOW RK Singh said that he was living like a “king” in the jail and a few jail officers were also arrested in the matter. “This case was first being handled by Special Cell. They had raided Rohini Jail following which Sukesh and one more were arrested. After that, the case was transferred to EOW. We arrested everyone who was involved. He (Sukesh Chandrashekhar) was living in the jail like a king. It seems all officials were involved because of the facilities given to him - an entire barrack vacated of all other inmates, he was using a mobile phone and ran extortion racket,” said RK Singh. He further said, “Later, during investigation it was found that money used to be transferred to jail officers via hawala dealers and money carriers. We've also arrested jail officers after considering all evidence. In a way, their involvement has been proven. They had helped him in crime.”
