DRI busts new smuggling technique at Hyderabad airport, seizes gold paste worth Rs 34.5 lakh
In a unique case of smuggling, a man was held by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for possession of 1.85kg gold paste at Hyderabad International Airport. DRI officials extracted the smuggled gold by heating the paste in a lab using kerosene. The extracted gold weighed around 120.780 grams and has an estimated value of Rs 34,57,606 in international market. The authorities have devised scientific ways to bust unique smuggling bids at the airports on international routes and have tasted success this time in Hyderabad.
