‘Each of our dogs has touched our lives positively, and I wish the same for my children’

As far as I can remember, our family has always had dogs around. For me, pet dogs were an essential part of growing up. From our childhood at Kottayam until now, my siblings and I have had the immense warmth, happiness and heartbreaks of owning and taking care of puppies, seeing them grow up, playing along, falling sick and passing away. Each time I lost a pet, to unexpected illness, inadvertent snake bites, poisoning (yes, by a neighbour!) or to old age, I would decide that I could not go through the bittersweet cycle again. But life is like that and with pets, love at first sight wins the game.
