Kerala gold smuggling case: Key accused Swapna Suresh detained

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today detained Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair, key accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, in Bengaluru. Swapna Suresh is among the four accused who smuggled 30 kg of gold through diplomatic baggage which arrived at the Thiruvanathapuram International airport. 30 kg of 24 carat gold worth Rs 14.82 crore was seized at Trivandrum International Airport on July 5 by the Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Kochi.
