Expressing ire over the issue of state minister’s staff members getting pensions, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on November 19 in Delhi, labelled the matter ‘atrocious’ and ensured of making the matter a national issue. The state Governor also contended that the money being used for the pension belongs to the public rather than the cadre. “With equal vigour, I'll take up the issue where staff of state ministers become entitled to life-long pension in 2 years’ time. It's mockery of law and atrocious, public money is squandered. These people are party-cadre and become entitled to lifelong pensions,” the Kerala Governor said. “It's highly discriminatory, fraud and deceit being played on people of Kerala. I'm going to make it big national issue. It's violation of spirit of constitution. It'll be my priority to bring it to end. This money belongs to Kerala's people and not cadre,” he added.
