Massive fire breaks out in Delhi’s Rithala, over 50 shanties destroyed
NEW DELHI: A major fire broke out in a cluster of shanties in Delhi’s Rithala area early on Thursday, destroying more than 50 huts, officials said. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call about the blaze at around 4.15 am, no deaths or injuries have been reported so far.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and began operations as the flames quickly spread through the tightly packed shanties.
Around 16 fire engines were deployed to control the fire. After several hours of effort, firefighters and local police managed to bring the blaze under control by about 6.30 am. Sources said a girl has been reported missing since the fire broke out, and search operations are currently underway. Initial reports suggest that more than 50 huts were located in the area, many of which were completely destroyed in the incident.
