Can you believe this man was once a brilliant student who excelled equally in academics and sports. Yes! we are talking about Prashant Mandi , a mentally-ill person from Bankura district Of West Bengal, who has been living in captivity for five long years. After graduating from Madan Mohan High School with distinction, Prashant joined local Pandit Raghunath Murmu Adivasi Mahavidyalaya for higher studies. However, destiny has other plans for Prashant. After completing his education in 2016, he went for an interview for post of teacher in school. However, in an ironic twist of fate, Prashant mental health deteriorated somehow and he even lost his father within few days of his illness. Now, the ill-fated Prashant leaves with his family in a dilapidated house. His mother Bharati Devi works on fields on others to sustain their living. Meanwhile, the local administration has taken their plight into consideration after it come to light through media. Arrangements are being made for Prashant’s medical treatment at the initiative of the government. In addition, steps will be taken to either repair the almost collapsed house or accommodate the family somewhere else. Administration has assured all kinds of help to the family.
