A cop sustained bullet injury after service pistol 'misfired' during its cleaning inside police station in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on October 30 at Pachokhara police station. Injured constable was identified as Narendra Faujdaar, was first taken to district hospital and later shifted to Agra-based private hospital for surgery, as the bullet damaged several nerves causing excessive blood loss. Prabal Pratap Singh, superintendent of police (city), Firozabad said, 'Our sub-inspector Kripal Singh was cleaning his service pistol when it misfired, and the stray bullet hit constable Narendra Faujdar's left wrist. It’s not clear if the sub-inspector followed proper safety measures or not while handling the weapon to clean it. Initial probe suggest, that cop had removed the magazine, but a bullet was still left in the pistol's chamber. An inquiry has been setup in the matter to know the exact cause of this incident.' No written complaint has been lodged in the matter.
