At least 60 people, who used two ATMs in Mulund (East) area
of Mumbai this month, have been duped a lost their money over Sunday and Monday.
A total of Rs 14.80 lakh has been fraudulently withdrawn from these accounts. They
all got alerts saying their money had been withdrawn through ATMs in Saket in
New Delhi and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The police suspect that the accused
might have fixed a chip in the two ATMs to copy data of debit cards that
withdrew money in the first week of December. The accused might have also fixed
a camera to copy the PINs.
