Pran Krishan Sikand popularly known as Pran was the most quintessential villain in Bollywood movies. The film industry called him Pran Sahab and his catchphrase 'Barkhurdaar' was immortalised in many movies. Born on February 12, 1920, in Ballimaran, Delhi, Pran belonged to a wealthy Indian Punjabi family. The legendary actor worked in 350 movies over six decades and won many honours throughout his career. Pran worked in quite a few movies before partition starting with a Punjabi movie titled 'Yamla Jat' (1940) which featured popular Pakistani singer and actress Noor Jehan as a child artist along with Durga Khote. Due to India's partition in 1947, his movies 'Taraash' (1951) and 'Khanabadosh' (1952), featuring Manorama, were released only in Pakistan after Partition. In 1945, Pran married Shukla Ahluwaliaand with whom he had two sons and a daughter. For more news & updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
