Legendary singer and musician AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija Rahman got engaged in an intimate ceremony. Khatija herself announced this happy news as she took to her Instagram handle and dropped a picture collage featuring her and her fiance Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, a sound engineer by profession. Sharing the picture she wrote, ‘With the blessings of the Almighty I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, an aspiring entrepreneur, and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on 29th December, my birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones.’ Reacting to the post, her to-be husband Riyas wrote, ‘Grateful to have you in my life. Alhamdulillah’. He also shared the same post on his Instagram handle with a similar note to which Khatija commented ‘Blessed and grateful to have got you in my life Riyasdeen. In shaa Allaah. Allahumma Barik.’ After coming across this happy news several netizens and names from the music industry took to the comment section and poured in love for the couple by dropping heart emojis. While singer Neeti Mohan wrote, ‘Many many congratulations. This is such a wonderful moment.’, Harshdeep Kaur commented, ‘Congratulations to the both of you. God Bless!!’ Singer Shreekanth Hariharan also congratulated the couple. Even AR Rahman also took to his Instagram stories to share the picture and shared the happy news with his fans and followers. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Khatija Rahman made her singing debut just at the age of 14. She stepped into the music industry with her father’s composition 'O Maramanishi/Puthiya Manidha' for the film ‘Robo’ which she sang alongside the legendary SP. Balasubramanyam and her father AR Rahman. Recently, she also gave her voice to the song 'Rock A Bye Baby' for Kriti Sanon-starrer comedy-drama 'Mimi'.
