Sona Mohapatra is one of the few versatile singers, who has perfectly balanced her film and independent music career quite well. She is an ardent social media user and never shies away from expressing her opinions on various issues. Now, Sona has slammed Janhvi Kapoor's dance number 'Nadiyon Paar' from her upcoming film 'Roohi'. The song is a recreated version of the hit Shamur song, 'Let The Music Play'. Reacting to the article about the song release on Twitter, Sona wrote, 'The sorry saga of remixing songs in Bollywood continues, the message that they put out is clear....we have no need or respect for original creators, creation, music composers, lyricists even singers. What it also says is that we have no confidence, spine, guts to back the new'. While many appreciated Janhvi for 'improving', some weren't satisfied with the new version of the song and termed it 'boring' and 'repetitive'. One wrote on Twitter, 'Now they are remixing the old songs. Earlier they used to blatantly copy the Hollywood songs. So you see Bollywood has evolved. After remixing, I assume they may start having a new singer sing the original song'. While, the other one wrote, 'Poorly done remix... Just killed the original. One of my favourites in the mid-2000s'. 'Nadiyon Paar' has been composed by the duo Sachin-Jigar, and talking about it in an interview they said, 'Let the Music Play' is a cult tune, and the opportunity to present this song to a new generation was irresistible! 'Nadiyon Paar' absorbs the elements that made the original so special and sprinkles a bit of Roohi's magic, to bring that extra tadka. Apart from Janhvi Kapoor, 'Roohi' also stars Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma in pivotal roles and is all set to hit the theatres on March 11, 2021. The film is based on the lines of the 2018 hit film 'Stree', which featured Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. Coming back to singer Sona Mohapatra, a few days back, the singer made a shocking revelation about her past. She shared a tweet in which she revealed that she was stabbed when she was 21-years-old. She further added that she hid it all this time as she thought it would worsen the matter. Sona’s tweet read as 'I was stabbed as a young adult pursuing my BTech. Had a scholarship, was working hard. Hid it because it would worsen matters. Was 21. My ‘heart’ feels relieved for the benevolent support for 22yr olds being referred to as kids. My head says an adult world is nasty, deal with it.
