The Keir Starmer government has made a U-turn on the grooming gangs scandal in the United Kingdom, backing a national inquiry following a sensational report on the scale of the failure. UK's home secretary Yvette Cooper apologised in the House of Commons to the victims of sexual abused. As per the media reports, the row saw vulnerable, mainly white girls raped and sexually abused by gangs of men, many of Pakistani heritage, in towns and cities across the UK.
