At a heated United Nations Security Council session in New York, U.S. Representative John Kelley accused China of being the “decisive enabler” of Russia’s war on Ukraine, alleging that Beijing supplies critical components used in missiles, drones, and ammunition responsible for killing civilians and destroying infrastructure. China’s envoy Geng Shuang hit back forcefully, calling the claims part of a U.S.-led “smear campaign” and defending China’s right to trade with both Kyiv and Moscow. He pointed out that even the United States maintains trade relations with Russia, and urged Washington to reflect on its own conduct.
