Eye of fire: Fierce flames erupt in the Gulf of Mexico
A fierce and massive fire erupted in the Gulf of Mexico early on Friday. The underwater blaze was such that it looked like molten lava was spewing out of the water. The fire broke out due to an oil pipeline rupture of state-owned oil company Petroleos Mexicanos or Pemex. Several videos of the fire are doing rounds on social media. The flames are being dubbed as ‘eye of fire’. After 5-hours of efforts by three vessels, fire was doused. Watch the video.
