The fragile Iran–Israel standoff is once again on the brink, despite a two-week truce announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Tehran is now reportedly preparing a response to Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Lebanon, with warnings that retaliation could come at any moment. A senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has issued a stark warning, declaring that any attack on Hezbollah will be treated as an attack on Iran itself. The commander signaled that the battlefield is “preparing for a heavy response,” while also calling on public unity. State media Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported that Iran has threatened a “regret-inducing response” if Israeli strikes continue. Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency claims Tehran could even withdraw from the ceasefire agreement, with forces already identifying potential targets.
