Russia claims its forces have captured the settlement of Komsomolskoye in the Zaporizhzhia region after what Moscow described as a major offensive operation. The Russian Defence Ministry said troops from the Vostok Group seized a key Ukrainian defensive position, taking control of hundreds of buildings and clearing several square kilometers of territory. Moscow also reported heavy Ukrainian losses in personnel, armored vehicles, drones, and military equipment during the battle. The announcement comes as fighting intensifies across multiple sectors of the front line. The development highlights Russia's continued push to gain ground in southern Ukraine amid the grinding war.
