IED Found Just Outside Zohran Mamdani's Residence In New York City; FBI Probes Terror Charges

A major security scare unfolded in New York City after an improvised explosive device was thrown near the residence of Mayor Zohran Mamdani during a tense protest on March 7. The New York City Police Department confirmed that one of the recovered devices was an IED, while another suspicious device is still undergoing forensic testing. Reports citing sources say the explosive contained Triacetone triperoxide, a highly volatile material often used in improvised bombs. The discovery of another suspicious device inside a parked vehicle near Gracie Mansion prompted limited evacuations as bomb squad teams secured the area. The incident erupted during a confrontation between opposing protest groups, leading to multiple arrests.
