Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle and Palantir could become potential targets as tensions continue to rise in Middle East. The threat comes as the war between America, Israel and Iran spills to ecnomic and digital infrastructure. According to a report by Al Jazeera, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)- affiliated Tasnim news agency has published a list of major offices and infrastructure run by US technology companies with Israeli links whose technology has been used for military applications. The list, as per the report, includes facilities linked to companies such as Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle and Palantir Technologies. “As the scope of the regional war expands to infrastructure war, the scope of Iran’s legitimate targets expands,” the agency report said.
Many of these tech giant have their regional offices, cloud infrastructure, or data-center operations across the Gulf, including in the United Arab Emirates. The claims of 'possible attack' are also shared by global capital markets platform The Kobeissi Letter. A post shared by the user on X (formerly known as Twitter) said: “Iran announces that facilities associated with major US technology companies could become targets next.
They specifically note that Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle, and Palantir are all potential targets across Israel, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.”
The warning followed reports in Iranian media about an strike on a bank building in Tehran linked to Bank Sepah. Iranian officials reportedly described it as an attack on economic infrastructure. “With this illegitimate and uncommon action, the enemy is forcing our hand to target economic centers and banks linked to the US and Zionist regime in the region,” said a spokesperson for the IRGC-owned Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, as reported by Wired.

Amazon's datacentre shutdown in UAE after fire
Last week, Amazon's Cloud Unit shut down temporarily after 'Objects Hit' UAE data centre facility. Amazon Web Service (AWS) confirmed that at approximately 4:30 AM PST on March 1, “objects struck” the facility in availability zone mec1-az2, creating sparks and igniting a fire. The UAE fire department cut power to the building. The zone went dark. In its statement AWS added that other zones remain operational and restoration will take several hours. AWS Health Dashboard currently shows the services at the Datacenter 'Disrupted'. It said that the following AWS services have been affected by this issue: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and Amazon Relational Database Service.
