Iran Says Gaps Remain After 21-Hour Talks With US In Islamabad; Hormuz Issue Complicates Deal
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said there were “gaps” between Iran and the United States following 21 hours of talks in Islamabad, despite some areas of mutual understanding. He indicated that key differences remained unresolved. According to him, the introduction of additional issues such as the Strait of Hormuz and broader regional concerns further complicated the negotiations. The comments came after U.S. Vice President JD Vance confirmed that the talks ended without an agreement, as Iran did not accept American terms regarding nuclear commitments.
