New Covid-19 strain in UK triggers series of travel bans ahead of holiday season
The new strain of coronavirus which is said to be 70 per cent more transmissible has left countries scrambling to announce travel bans even as the world heads into Christmas and New Year holidays. Amid fears over the highly infectious new mutant strain of the novel coronavirus, several countries have imposed travel bans to the UK. India suspended all flights to the UK following concern over the new virus strain, hours after Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the authorities are keeping a close watch.
