Suvendu Adhikari's PA Murder Case: All 3 Accused Sent To 13 Days Of Police Custody
The CID produced three accused before a district court in Barasat, North 24 Parganas, in connection with the Chandranath Rath murder case. Following submissions by Public Prosecutor Bivas Chatterjee, the court granted 13 days of police custody till May 24, 2026, to aid further investigation into the conspiracy behind the killing. The accused were brought under heavy security with their faces covered to protect the identification process. The prosecution informed the court that custodial interrogation was necessary to uncover deeper links and possible accomplices. The court also approved the CID’s request to add charges related to destruction of evidence. Investigators claimed preliminary findings suggest attempts were made to erase evidence. Additional charges under relevant legal sections and the Arms Act have also been invoked against the accused.
