Union Home Minister Amit Shah said illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in West Bengal would not face cases if they voluntarily returned under a BJP government. Speaking in Gujarat, Shah accused the previous Mamata Banerjee-led government of allowing unchecked infiltration and reiterated the Centre’s commitment to identifying and deporting illegal immigrants. He also highlighted land transfers for border fencing and announced a high-powered committee to examine demographic changes.
