‘Cheated us’: Delhi WAQF Board Chairman blames Congress over Centre’s property acquisition
Amid the takeover of 123 properties of the Delhi WAQF Board by the Central Government, Delhi WAQF Board Chairman and AAP leader Amanatullah Khan on February 20 in Delhi alleged Congress of cheating with the Delhi WAQF Board and said that none of this would have happened if Congress would have given the accurate names of the properties in the papers during their regime. He further explained that the mention of the mosques and graveyards on the papers were not accurate. The Delhi WAQF Board Chairman also blamed the Centre for lying as Khan claimed that the board did write a leader to them over the matter. The Central Government has recently decided to take over 123 properties of the Delhi WAQF Board, which includes mosques and graveyards. “How can they take all these properties based on just one letter? Delhi WAQF Board wrote a letter to them on April 12. Them blaming us for lying over the matter is a lie in itself. If Congress would have used the correct names of the properties, none of this would have happened. Congress cheated us the most,” Khan said.
