Maj Gen GD Bakshi and Capt Anil Gaur respond to the U.S. approving AMRAAM missile sales to Pakistan. Bakshi highlights that Pakistan’s F-16s already carry AIM-120 C beyond visual range (BVR) missiles and recalls India lacked such weapons during Wing Commander Abhinandan’s 2019 MiG-21 encounter. He stresses the importance of BVR capability, which allows radar to target enemies beyond visual range. Bakshi adds that India now possesses Akash missiles 1, 2, and 3, with Akash 3 having a range of 300-400 km. He warns that U.S. sales of missiles to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia could threaten India’s security, stating America is “on the verge of becoming India’s enemy.” Capt Anil Gaur confirms Pakistan’s use of AIM-120 missiles previously and says India’s Air Force is well-prepared to counter such advanced threats.
