A dramatic survivor account has emerged following the sinking of the Iranian Navy frigate IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean. The Iranian naval ship was returning from a military engagement in India’s Visakhapatnam and was travelling through international waters when it was struck in the early hours of the morning in March by the US Navy. Crew member Hamed Momeneh described a sudden attack around 3 a.m., claiming the vessel was hit by two torpedoes launched from a submarine without prior warning. The impact critically damaged the ship, forcing the crew to eventually abandon it after remaining onboard for hours.
