Tourism Business Units felt disappointment as they started receiving cancellations for future bookings from tourists in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla. The reason behind the cancellations was the heavy rain that happened during the past week in the state. Tourism Business Units have a fear that it would start hitting their business. Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rain in most parts of the state during the next three to four days. “There is no panic situation in our state. Schools, colleges, and offices are functioning here. There is nothing that has stopped the daily functioning of the state... No major roads, no national highways are closed, and only some rural roads are closed. The road was blocked due to construction and was restored within a few hours. I want people to come and enjoy the rain, fog, and mist. Those who are coming from outside states, I would request them to register themselves with the authorities so that we can contact them,” said Raghubir Singh Bali, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), Shimla
