Former Maldives Vice President Faisal Naseem has delivered a strong endorsement of India, calling New Delhi the island nation’s closest ally and partner. Speaking in Delhi at the 8th Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Lecture, Naseem highlighted India’s long-standing role as a dependable first responder and a pillar of stability in the Indian Ocean region. Addressing global leaders, Naseem stressed that peace, cooperation and early action are essential to prevent man-made disasters. His remarks reflect growing recognition of India’s leadership based on trust rather than coercion. As geopolitical tensions rise worldwide, India’s image as a reliable ally continues to gain validation from its closest neighbours, reinforcing its role as a stabilising force in South Asia.
