The nature of warfare is rapidly changing, and nations must be prepared for longer conflicts. That was the key message from Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, who warned that global conflicts are proving that wars are no longer short and decisive. Speaking at Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi, the Indian Navy chief stressed the urgent need to build resilient defence industrial capacities. He said modern warfare requires not only advanced weapons but also the ability to produce them at scale and upgrade them continuously. As technology evolves rapidly, military forces must remain adaptable and prepared for sudden operational demands. Admiral Tripathi also highlighted the importance of maintaining inventory and ensuring surge production capability during crises. The lessons from ongoing global conflicts, he said, clearly show that industrial strength and technological agility will define military success in the future.
