1 school student died while 2 others were critically injured in a bomb explosion in Ladakh’s Kargil on April 16. The two injured were rushed to the district hospital for treatment. As per reports, one of them is out of danger and the other has chances of survival after being operated. Lieutenant Governor BD Mishra announced certain compensation amounts to the families of those who died and got injured. He also visited the hospital where the injured students are being treated. “This was an unfortunate incident. One of the injured children is out of danger and the other has a chance of survival after being operated. A sum of 4 lakhs will be given as compensation to the family of the dead child and 1 lakh will be given to the family of those injured. Apart from these, search operations will be carried out in the areas where ammunition could possibly be spread.” said LG BD Mishra.
