Leh celebrates the annual festival of Tseskarmo monastery with fervour and in high spirits. Tseskarmo is a quiet place located about 100 kilometres from Leh. This place is known as ideal for meditation. This festival celebration also marks the 800 commemoration of Lord Jigten Sumgon Mahaparinirvana. The head lama of Drikung Kagyu lineage, Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche was the chief guest on the occasion. Thousand of devotees, both locals and foreigners, thronged the monastery to celebrate the occasion. Monk in their best costumes performed ritual mask dance besides Yak dance, devotional song and folk song were also part of the celebration.
