A special train carrying survivors of the Balasore Train Accident arrived at Chennai MGR Central Railway Station on June 04. The survivors and army personnel recalled the chilling moments of the accident and how they survived the horrific train accident. He said, “I'm army personnel...it was hard to take people out of the train...we took our injured fellow passengers to hospital...I lost my documents, army ID card, phone, luggage, etc... I’m glad that I survived the accident.” Thereafter on arrival at Chennai, the victims were taken for medical assistance. The death toll in the accident has been reported at 288 and more than 1000 sustained injuries. Tamil Nadu Health Minister MA Subramanian and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister KKSSR Ramachandran received the victims at railway station.
