Security arrangement in place in Bodh Gaya, says Bihar DGP

Political tensions in West Bengal escalated dramatically as violent clashes broke out in Kolkata shortly before Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally at Brigade Parade Ground. Supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the ruling All India Trinamool Congress clashed near Girish Park, with reports of stone-pelting, injuries and damaged vehicles. The residence of West Bengal minister Shashi Panja was also reportedly targeted during the chaos. BJP leaders accused the Mamata Banerjee government of attempting to disrupt the rally, while TMC denied the charges and blamed BJP supporters for provoking violence. At the rally, Modi launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said the countdown for the end of TMC rule in the state had begun.
