Severe turbulence on Air India flight from Delhi to Sydney, several passengers injured
During a Delhi to Sydney Air India flight, turbulence caused injuries to several passengers on Tuesday. Flight AI-302, operated by Air India's B787-800 aircraft VT-ANY, experienced severe turbulence, resulting in seven passengers reporting minor sprains. The cabin crew, aided by an onboard doctor and nurse, provided immediate first aid. Upon arrival, the Air India airport manager in Sydney arranged medical assistance, which was utilized by only three passengers. Fortunately, no hospitalization was necessary. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is conducting an investigation into the incident. Air India issued a statement acknowledging the turbulence and subsequent actions taken. The cause of the turbulence is not yet known.
