Surya Murder Case: Main Accused Asad Dead In Encounter, Mother Says Fight For Justice Continues
The main accused in the Surya Chauhan murder case, Asad, has been killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. According to police, Asad had been absconding since the May 28 stabbing incident that led to Surya Chauhan's death. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been announced for information leading to his arrest. DCP Dhawal Jaiswal said police received intelligence that Asad was planning to meet associates in the Khoda area before fleeing. Acting on the tip-off, police teams set up checkpoints and attempted to intercept him. Officials claim that Asad and an associate arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire when asked to stop, prompting retaliatory action by the police. Asad was injured in the exchange of fire and taken to hospital, where he later died. A police constable was also injured during the operation. Police recovered a motorcycle and a pistol allegedly used by Asad and said further investigation is underway. Reacting to the development, Surya's mother Saroj said she wanted to see proof of Asad's death and demanded strict action against all those involved in her son's murder.
