2025 demanded firm leadership, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded with clarity across security, diplomacy, and politics. After the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, he issued a stern warning to terrorists and their backers, asserting that India’s armed forces had dismantled terror safe havens and would strike decisively. On the Indus water issue, Modi stressed that India’s resources must first serve its farmers, calling past agreements deeply unfair. As the US imposed fresh tariffs, he signalled that India would not bow to external pressure and would protect its economic interests. Domestically, Modi launched sharp attacks on the Congress following the NDA’s Bihar poll victory and pledged to uproot “jungle raj” in West Bengal ahead of the 2026 elections.
