Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a media interaction in Beijing, said he informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the Alaska Summit during their recent car ride together. Putin warned against Western dominance and emphasized that economic giants like India and China must be treated as equals. Stressing that “the colonial era is over,” he said no country should threaten or punish others without consequences. He noted that big nations with strong domestic systems cannot show political weakness. Putin’s remarks came shortly after his viral meeting with Modi and Xi Jinping at the SCO Summit in Tianjin. The comments also coincide with rising India–US tensions, after President Trump imposed 50% tariffs on Indian goods, citing continued oil trade between India and Russia.
