UP: Kashi Vishwanath Temple witnesses massive footfall of devotees on first Monday of ‘Sawan’

July 10th marked the first Monday of the holy month of ‘Sawan’. Devotees thronged Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on the occasion. Heavy police deployment was seen outside the ancient temple. ‘Sawan’ is considered to be one of the most auspicious months of Hindu calendar, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Believers observe fasts and worship Lord Shiva on the Mondays of Sawan.
