West Bengal Launches Statewide Madrasa Survey, Seeks Data On Legal Status, Infrastructure And Staff
A month after the BJP came to power in West Bengal, the state government has launched a comprehensive survey of madrasas across the state. District administrations have been directed to collect information on registration status, infrastructure, staffing, student enrolment, legal documentation and courses being taught. Officials maintain the exercise is aimed at improving governance, planning and welfare measures, while any irregularities found during the review will be examined separately.
