At the ET World Leaders Forum 2025, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India’s trade negotiations will remain rooted in national interest and aligned with industry needs. Emphasizing a pragmatic approach, Goyal said deals will only be pursued if they serve both the country and its businesses. He highlighted India’s active engagement with the European Union and said talks on three to four more trade agreements are being fast-tracked. Goyal also noted that the government is exploring opportunities to deepen trade ties in key sectors, working in coordination with other ministries to ensure that new partnerships support India's economic and strategic objectives.
