Women World Boxing Championship: Nikhat Zareen, Nitu Ghanghas, Lovlina Borgohain punch their way into the finals

Four Indian pugilists confirmed medals for India at the ongoing Women World Boxing Championship in New Delhi after booking their berths for the semifinal bouts. The day kicked off with CWG champion Nitu Ghanghas sailing into the final of the 48kg weight category after causing an upset by defeating last year's World Championship silver medallist Alua Balkibekova of Kazakhstan 5-2. The Kazakh opponent was a familiar face for Nitu as she lost to her in the last year's World Boxing Championship.Nitu has now settled the score against her with better strategy.Reigning World Champion Nikhat Zareen boxed flawlessly to dominate her semifinal bout of (50kg) against the Rio Olympic medallist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia, beating her unanimously 5-0. She is now aiming to defend her title at the World Boxing Championship. VO 3: With Nikhat and Nitu entering the finals, India is sure to win two silver medals, However, the two pugilists are set to box for golden glory on Sunday.
