Abhishek Banerjee Hits Back at BJP, Challenges Leaders to Contest From Falta Amid Repoll Row

Amid the escalating political battle over repolling in West Bengal’s Falta constituency, Abhishek Banerjee has launched a strong counterattack against the BJP. Responding to remarks by Amit Malviya, Banerjee rejected claims that the “Diamond Harbour model” has collapsed, asserting that no force can dent his political stronghold. In a bold challenge, the TMC leader dared BJP’s top leadership to contest directly from Falta, saying they should “bring their strongest” if they have the courage. The remarks come after the Election Commission of India ordered fresh polling in all 285 booths in the constituency, citing “severe electoral offences” during the April 29 voting phase. With protests on the ground and allegations flying from both sides, the Falta repoll has now become a high-stakes political flashpoint in West Bengal.
