Election counting in Tamil Nadu is underway, with early trends showing Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), ahead in more than 100 constituencies. In response to the situation, security has been tightened outside Vijay’s Chennai residence, with police deployed in large numbers to manage crowd control and prevent any untoward incidents. Movement of vehicles in the nearby area has also been restricted to maintain law and order during the counting process. At the same time, the DMK alliance is reportedly in third place, suggesting a significant shift in the state’s electoral landscape.
