BrahMos Boom: How India's Power Missile Is Helping Asia Push Back Against 'Expansionist' China

A missile made in India is rapidly becoming China's newest strategic headache. The Philippines has bought it. Vietnam has signed for it. Indonesia is preparing to join the club. Across the Indo-Pacific, nations facing maritime pressure from Beijing are increasingly turning to BrahMos. The reason is simple. BrahMos offers a relatively affordable way to threaten powerful warships and create strong coastal defence zones. At nearly three times the speed of sound and with devastating strike capability, the missile gives smaller countries a fighting chance against larger naval powers. This is not just a defence story. It is a story about geopolitics, deterrence and India's emergence as a major military exporter. As China's influence grows, BrahMos is becoming the missile of choice for countries seeking security without dependence on Western powers.

The House has approved a war powers resolution aimed at halting U.S. military action against Iran. The vote on Wednesday marked a challenge to President Donald Trump, with a handful of Republicans joining Democrats to end the three-month-long conflict. The resolution passed by a vote of 215-208 on Wednesday, though its future remains uncertain. House Speaker Mike Johnson had sought to prevent a result that would highlight growing opposition to the war. Johnson had abruptly shut down floor proceedings two weeks ago when the resolution appeared close to passage. However, opposition has continued to build as the conflict drags on and Trump struggles to negotiate a swift resolution. Discontent has also increased as the war continues and as Trump faces difficulties in advancing a peace plan.
