Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu tourism department organises International Balloon Festival

Following reports of a shooting incident involving two Indian-flagged vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, Dr Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, said he has no information about the specific event but emphasised that Iran and India share strong bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that the situation will be resolved peacefully and urged all sides to avoid escalation. Reiterating Iran’s position, he said the country does not support war and seeks stability and peace in the region. His remarks come amid concerns over maritime security in one of the world’s most critical energy and trade corridors, highlighting the need for restraint and dialogue.
