An ambitious plan to concretise Mumbai's roads and free the city of potholes is making most of the city look like its been hit by endless digging and chaos with excavators at work in lane after lane. The inconvenience to residents is now starting to get on their nerves. Social media is full of memes and jokes on Mumbai's perennially dug up roads. In some areas, the digging starts on one road and moves to another before the work on the first one has been completed. Is it bad planning, lack of coordination between agencies, or incompetence that's making Mumbai look like a cratered, dusty city? Do you think the civic body, the BMC, be able to keep its promise of delivering a pothole-free Mumbai by December 2026?
