India has opened multiple gates of the Salal and Baglihar dams in Jammu and Kashmir, causing a visible rise in water levels in the Chenab River. The move comes just days after a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan that notably excluded any mention of the Indus Waters Treaty. Government sources now say the treaty remains suspended and linked to Pakistan’s action on terrorism. India had earlier demanded irreversible steps from Islamabad following the Pahalgam terror attack. Watch
