Israel to release 24 women, 15 teenaged male prisoners under Gaza truce deal
Israel is going to release 39 Palestinian prisoners, among them 24 women and 15 teenage males, in the occupied West Bank in exchange for 13 hostages due to be freed from the Gaza Strip by Hamas, a Palestinian official said. The Israeli government said that under an outline of the deal, Hamas is to free over a four-day period at least 50 of the roughly 240 hostages taken in its October 7 attack on Israel. Israel is to free some Palestinian prisoners in exchange. Egyptian state media say the truce will begin Thursady morning.
