Two major sections of the Chandni Chowk flyover have been opened for vehicular traffic providing relief to commuters from Kothrud and Bavdhan areas. The underpass that connects Kothrud to Mulshi, and a ramp going from Bavdhan towards Katraj were opened on Monday. Both will help many commuters avoid the busy Chandni Chowk. An officer of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) gave a number to Chandni Chowk's traffic load. He said, on average, 1.6 lakh vehicles cross the junction each day. As per the NHAI, nearly 90% of the project is complete. "We will try our best to meet the May 1 deadline for completion of the entire project," said a senior NHAI official.
