‘Holi kab hai, kab hai Holi?’: Confusion over Holi’s date triggers downpour of memes

There is a lot of confusion among people about the dates and timings of celebrating Holi, ‘Holika Dahan’ and Dhulendi this year because as per various panchangs (almanacs) ‘Bhadra Kaal’ is coinciding with the sunset time.
As a result, some people will burn Holika on March 6 and play colours (Dhulhendi) on March 7, while others will celebrate the two festivals on March 7 and 8 respectively.
According to astrologers Acharya Dinesh Yadav and Ganesh Prasad Mishra, the Holika Dahan is done on full moon (Poornima) night of the Fagun (Shukl) month of Hindu calendar or panchang. This year, the Poornima will start on March 6 afternoon and end before sunset on March 7. Holika Dahan is done after sunset. Hence, there is a confusion whether to burn Holika on the night of March 6 or March 7.
To make matters more complicated, Maharashtra is observing the festival of colours on March 7, whereas the rest of the country will celebrate on March 8.
As a result of this confusion, the question of ‘Holi kab hai, kab hai Holi’ is being asked by a larger group of people on social media.
With confusion prevailing about the Holika Dahan timing, netizens are flooding the internet with hilarious memes.
